I thought we loved each other
as if we were eating from
the same plate and then
we cunningly collect uneaten
bread crumbs from the table.

I thought we loved each other
as if we were drinking wine
from the same glass and then
the stain on the tablecloth
carefully we concealed by hand.

We loved each other in moderation.
We measured love in words.
We hid the chaos that was
the ruler of our feelings.

Vladar naših osjećanja

Činilo mi se da se volimo
kao da jedemo iz istog tanjira
a onda lukavo skupljamo
nepojedene mrvice sa stola.

Činilo mi se da se volimo
kao da pijemo vino iz iste čaše,
a onda mrlju na stoljnjaku
pažljivo skrivamo rukom.

Mi smo se voljeli odmjereno.
Mjerili smo ljubav riječima.
Sakrivali smo haos koji je
bio vladar naših osjećanja.
