Rules Poem by Barry Middleton

Rules

Rules are made by fools,
but with the best intention,
to save some other fool
from crisis intervention.
For if the fool was free
to make his own free choice,
you know he'd mess it up
without some foolish voice
to tell him of the rule
that keeps him safe from harm
concocted by the idiots
who run the funny farm.

Truths in poetical form sound like a game for clever minds.
