Run But Never Hide Poem by Patricia PMC

Run But Never Hide

Sometimes I want to run away,
To run and hide is what I pray.
Forget the pain and all the sorrow,
Much too afraid to face tomorrow.

Do you ever feel this way,
To just pick up, forget the day?
Close the door and turn the key,
Leave all the pain to what will be.

Some say that is the cowards way,
To run away and not face the day.
That you can run but never hide,
For what you feel resides inside.

There is no place that's far enough,
When life itself has become too
rough. It's always there waiting deep within,
Pretending to be your long lost friend.

Where do you turn when you just want to hide,
From all the pain and sorrow you feel inside.
Well, I will tell you what you must never do,
Is to try and hide from what is a part of you.

Pain and sorrow is a real part of life,
That sometimes can cut you like a knife.
You must stand up and face it head on,
And know that you don't have to face it alone.

Let the loving arms of the one above
Shelter and keep you in his mighty love.
His awesome love comes in many forms,
Can rain down on you like a summer storm.

From a friend who holds you and whipes your tears,
To the lover who listens and calms your fears.
You are never alone, you must understand,
Just hold on tight to God's loveing hand.

So whenever you feel like you're dying inside,
You must not run and you cannot hide.
God made friends, sent from above,
So turn to them and feel his love.
