Your love is like a warm summer rain,
Washing over me like a fine champagne.
So exquisite and exhilarant is this love,
I know without question it comes from above.

Seems all my life I have waited for you,
And now that you're here I feel anew.
Like a whisper on a prayer you came to me,
Leaving me breathless, my heart full of glee.

I know each night my dreams you do fill,
For the smile when I wake I can not conceal.
Thoughts of you get me through my days,
Your name on my lips like a musical phrase.

All through the day I watch the clock,
Anxious for the time when we can talk.
We never run out of things to say,
We laugh, we joke and we even pray.

Pray for a world where things are fair,
Where we can be together without despair.
Sometimes it seems that fate is cruel,
To put us together but leave out the rules.

So if this is all we shall ever share,
This beautiful and wondrous love affair.
Then when my time on this earth is through,
I'll know the sweetest of love, was the love I found in you.
