Running Away Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Why are they running away?
From the land of the spoil
A blessed of a land
De-blessed by them wolves

They send their children abroad to school
Having destroyed the fabrics of our education
They travel abroad for medical care
When they turned our hospitals to death traps
Their young wives give birth abroad
When they rubbished the identity of our nation
They stock their looted funds abroad
Having destroyed the security of our banks

The common man suffers every day
While the evil men continues to loot
The smoldering anger of the commoners
Will soon ignite in vicious flame
And the evil men will have no hiding place.
