S P A C E Poem by Jim Boone

S P A C E

That's what you say
you need some of

A place:
That's what I offer
for those burned out
on that thing called love

a place
where I'll treat you better
than you ever dreamed

listen
to the hurt and frustration
as the music of care
fills the air with trust
relaxing a troubled mind
as the softest touch
you've ever known
spreads a balm over despair.

Relaxed
and talking just about you
the naked truth
candlelight, a sip of wine, a kiss

Open
and responsive without restraint
for now
your troubles are mine to unwind
baptized in love
and when you need it
just a bit
or most

memory will guide you back -
back into
our s p a c e.
