Sacrificed By Mommy Poem by Joshua Mccoy

Sacrificed By Mommy

Have you ever seen a man murdered in cold blood right before your very eyes?
Has blood ever been splattered upon your face
From a puncture wound to a guy
In front of you?
Now bleeding furiously from the chest and coughing up gallons of blood.

A man I never knew, but somehow called me son, impaled himself on the blade of a sharp knife that was destined for my forehead.
Blood filled tears rolled off my eight year old cheeks as I shook the new savior of my life’s cold and frail body to wake up and stop mommy, who stood poised ready to strike again with a demon grin upon her face and eyes with pure delight.
I stumbled while scrambling to stand on my feet and broke out into a run as I desperately tried to shake the image of, daddy pleading for mommy to spare my life, out of my head with each puddle stomping step.
“How could my warm and loving mother who raised me all alone for eight years want to…” I couldn’t finish my thought because a moment ago, mommy was ten or eleven feet behind while I was running steadily forward but suddenly with one quick glance behind me a deep searing cut forms across the front left side of my neck. I wince at the pain as I turn around to see my mommy’s blade a few feet from my neck soaked in blood. Mommy had just slashed point blank down at me to decapitate me in a clean swipe but turning my head had caused her to gravely miss and now as I nervously trembled on legs of jelly; I began to push as hard as possible away on forced hands trying to reignite my motor skills. She glares at me and I stare back with eyes full of fright and tears. She menacingly cocked her head to one side then to the other with a devil possessed face drained of emotion of any kind and in a sincere and sweet voice like a mother rich with love
Utters
“Come to mommy sweetie,
Mommy only wants to make it allll better”

Relieved that my loving mommy has returned and with tears of joy, I rush over to my caring mommy who clutches a bloody butcher knife concealed behind her back, itching to shred the air with my blood once I was in striking distance.
I wrap my arms around her waist, left my head upwards and say
“I Love You Momm—“
As a blade pierces between my eyeballs.
