Sad Advice - Poem by Anna Cellmer

Someone just gave me
Advice this morning
It makes me sad but
Maybe he is right
Let’s see what I received:
“If you love something
Set it free,
If it comes back to you,
It’s yours
If it doesn’t
It never was”
It’s hard, you know?
It’s hard to realize
That you just
Don't love me
I want to cry
Seeing this advice
But maybe he is right
So, you never were mine?
How it’s hard
To believe at this
How it’s sad but
Maybe he is right
I should set you free
My Love
As I’ve done before
Maybe someday
You will be back
To me again
I’ll live this hope
To the end
But don’t worry about me
I’ll be fine I think
I’m sorry
If I was wrong,
My Love

    the heart
    seeks truth
and when it slams into the skull
    a wise person feels pain
    but learns
    what's what
    next time
    so that the tale
    can have a happy ending
    and a happy ending
    is what we all seek
    even if
    the crooked path
    seems to last forever
    a fine poem
