I stride through an aisle, pitch dark
palpitation of own, the only sound I hark
shirt buttoned up, handbag clutched
under sweating armpit for the safety
of a hundred rupee note!
A sudden cough. Startled, I look back
only to discover yet another fear
hurrying home!
Huffing and puffing I reach my crib
lock the door, let out a breath too deep
'Home is the safest', I debate
until a day Mother Nature shakes me violently
out of my own head!
Safe is nowhere
and I am not going to
stop life, living
for the sake of feeling it.
