Safe Haven Poem by michael Smajda

Safe Haven

I'd rather spend a lifetime in prison
Then spend a lifetime with you.
The warden would treat me much better
Then, I know, you would ever do.

You never stop your, mindless, talking.
You are as impolite as anyone can be.
All you do is constantly complain.
You're an embarrassment for all to see.

At least, in prison, I'd get three meals a day.
Not spoiled leftovers cooked days before.
I'd be behind a cell, kept away from you,
An outcome that is looking better even more.

Right now, the way I've been feeling to date
Which really is, I just don't give a dime.
So, to assure I am rid of you forever,
I think I'll go out commit a felony crime!
