Safe Haven Poem by Carmina Abrenica

Safe Haven

Lost in a baying merciless crowd
An inner voice's plea speaks aloud
Traversing the road back home
Brings such a mellifluous tone

Where shall I seek lasting candor
And all warm peaceful days of yore
A loving knock on your roseate door
Finally back in your caress once more

Eternity it seems when we're away
Breakneck when we desire to stay
Yet the magical moment a sweet bay
Like the perfect song on a wedding day

In a world ephemeral and uncertain
And with a heart of battle cry laden
Not anymore a distressed maiden
Your loving arms truly my safe haven
