Safe In Our Lies Poem by Sven Rhoads

Safe In Our Lies

Rating: 5.0

Smiling wide while we're falling apart
Safe in our lies that blur all the lines
Love, sweet illusion of my beating heart
When so long ago that life pulse died

It rains everyday of our lives
But still we will continue to deny
Standing in shadows, fooling ourselves
Home sweet home in our humble hell
It soaks down into our bones
Can't force blood out of the stone
Put on a brave face but behind those eyes
Is just another lost soul feeling safe in the lies

I can't hold on much more my love
I can taste the venom in my throat
I'll try to be strong for you tonight
But tighter is the embrace of the rope

I'm sorry my dear but I'm laying to rest
I can't go on with living this way
I'm hating every stich of my DNA
And I can feel myself slowly slipping away

Let me feel the sun through this pouring rain
Let me find a way to end all this pain
Let know that our love is truly real
Or throw the dirt on me cause I don't want to feel

It's been raining all our lives
We've been safe in our lies
But I just want to know for sure
Is this all it is or am I bound for more
