Sai009, Services To His Guru Poem by Rajaram Ramachandran

Sai009, Services To His Guru

SHIRDI SAI BABA

Sai Baba's Guru stayed in a rest house,
Where Baba served him for 12 years,
With all reverence, like a baby-in-arms,
Without hesitation or so, at any time.

From Sri Sai Baba's own words
His chosen Guru's calm, peaceful,
And his cheerful, meditative face,
Made him his close disciple.

The Guru never left his place
Even to attend to nature's calls,
Which he did sitting in his seat,
As he wasn't conscious of it.

In that kind of deep meditation,
He wasn't aware of any action,
That caused his natural inaction,
So, he remained in that condition.

It became Sai Baba's routine duties,
To clean up and attend to his needs,
As a reward for his dedicated services
Guru gave him all the blessings.

Guru promised to remain always,
With him to whatever place,
In his entire life, he moved
Or whichever place, he stayed.

For the Dakshina Guru asked him,
Two paise, not in currency form,
But as absolute faith, the nishta,
And cheerful patience, the saboori.

Sai Baba said, "The entire credit goes
To this Guru, who turned my ways
To the spiritual path from that time,
For which I owe my debt to him."

Who'll do like that with no rests,
This kind of dedicated services,
To a Guru, who was like a child,
But for Sai Baba, sent by God?

So, time and again, God sends
Saints like him to this world
As an example to mankind,
For attaining their spiritual end.
