Salesman Translation And Additions Poem by Xamara Lemus

Salesman Translation And Additions

in the empty plaza nothing could a salesman sell
though no one bought a thing
her voice just would not turn off
her voice would never turn off
i’m gonna put a market among so many merchants
she said
to sell hopes and buy the dawning daylight
to sell one day the melody that love makes when it dances
its sound makes life advance,
like a scream claiming justice
the scream of freedom that makes life by loving worthwhile

“who wants to sell with me the peace of a sleeping child”
an afternoon spent with a loving mother
and the feeling of being completely loved

you are the one that has pass by here
the one that has arrived
and the one that will arrive
sell the tree that remains
in the threshold of truth

i’m gonna offer throughout
the strength of air that surrounds me
the wings that have not flown
and the lips that remember
the mouth they loved
but did not kiss
and the remembrance of the fire
burning inside the soul
of unrequited love
if only he had known
if only he had let this love hug his soul
it would have scorched the cold and snow
that cruelty and sorrow deposited upon his life
and 'the shadow of your hair when you incline down your head
would not just be a treasured memory in my heart
