Sally Dupre' Poem by Atsar MusePen

Sally Dupre'

Sally Dupre' deserved an apology
For I never learned how to spell
Gunshots still ring in my ears...the smell...oh the smell

The wind carries forever all that has been lost
So I look for the wind from the same direction
To bring her back...again

Putting off to think of myself...for myself is all I needed then
I wiped away her hair that clung to my hand
That held the pen that didn't land
That didn't begin.....that didn't understand

Dancing and sometimes seemingly tripping
My moving thoughts that would not subside
Close the book Sally she did
Her hair still followed me
From wherever...she went
