Samwiches Poem by Richard D Remler

Samwiches

...................

Sam made samwiches today -
The kind that turn out green and gray
And smell a lot like old sardines -
Smushed in with gooey lima beans.

Sam always smooshes something up,
Right inside her smooshing cup,
She stirs and gloops it up so well
You almost do not mind the smell.

That peanut butter sure looks pink,
And has a most un-peanut stink,
And that tuna fish, all green and blue,
Is hissing like an old kazoo!

I bet she scrunched in lots of cheese,
And almost seven black-eyed peas.
The kind that goosh right in the bread,
Just like a caterpillar head!

But you won't see us duck and run.
Nah, her samwiches are always fun!
And you'll see her swell with pride
When we can't tell just what's inside.
