Sanctuary Poem by Chelsea Meigs

Sanctuary

Rating: 5.0

Walking in the chilling wind
Pondering everything
You turn in circles
And wonder where to begin

With your body numbing
And fragile heart throbbing
You continue on your reckless way
Fighting the sting of tears

Early it begins to rain
No point now in turning back
Water streams down your face
And disguises all those fears

Swirling wind down every street
You turn into the ally
In the safest place, it is so dark
It is your sanctuary
