Sarajevo Poem by Julian Takali

Sarajevo

She, a lovely one
In arms of bloody butchers
She, a tender one
Granite near the heart
Yet a stone send ripples
From which these cracks
Bleed a story of time
A timeless piece
She, a timeless piece
Ours, yours, ours
Sculpted by war and mania
And mothers holding child
Fathers weeping secret
Voices of devil in our garden
Telling stories of haven
Luring, alluring all the weak
Ramparts in fracture, all the week
All the weeks long, from then to now
She, a lovely one
Carved to imperfection
She, a timeless piece
Ours, yours, ours
