Say Hello To God For Me Poem by Victoria Gauci

Say Hello To God For Me

What would I not give?
Every possession that I own,
To be able to sit right down,
And have you here alone,

I miss our conversations,
Just looking in your eyes,
How I miss the moments,
When you were by my side,

Your smile and your laughter,
I can still see and hear,
They fill my senses daily,
My memories are crystal clear,

At times it's like a bad dream,
I often tell myself it's not real,
One would think these seven years,
Is plenty of time to heal,

But not one of my possessions,
Would I hesitate to trade,
For just one moment with you,
To help this pain go away,

Why did God have to take you,
At so early of an age?
You were always so full of life,
Your life was one big stage,

You were the queen of your castle,
So strong and full of heart,
Some days are oh so hard on me,
Some days I fall apart,

I keep you close to comfort me,
I have your pictures all around,
I hold tight to the memories,
I shed tears without a sound,

You are my Mother, my dear Mother,
My Mom and also my friend,
No matter how much time goes by,
My love will never end,

So say hello to God for me,
Please tell him I'm alright,
Even though he needed you,
I can still see your starlight,

It shines upon my fields of life,
Fortifying my ponds of energy,
Filling my meadows with green and blue,
Protecting my memories,

The strongest love in the entire world,
Has come from you to me,
It is the strength I draw upon,
Freeing me from captivity,

I miss you, I miss you, oh how I miss you,
I feel the warmth of your love,
I thank you for being my Mother,
And loving me still from above.
