Scarred Girl Poem by Brooke Ashlyn

Scarred Girl

Every one judges
The girl with the scars
Why she holds grudges
And stares at the stars
Why does she hide behind a constant smile
Could it be that she’s in denial?
Maybe she thinks that we can’t see
Everything that she tries not to be
But we see all the pain that is etched in her eyes
This is all just her disguise
So peel back the mask
Stop telling us lies
Tell us scarred girl, if we may ask
What lead to your demise?
Is this to big a task?
Please tell us scarred girl if you don’t mind
Who gave you the mask that you hide behind?
Was it a stranger or a loved one perhaps?
What was the cause of your collapse
Did someone hurt you?
So you built up your wall.
Did someone hurt you?
When will it fall?
Oh scarred girl tell us the truth
Who came to you
And stole your youth
Poor scarred girl, what did they do?
Was it one person or maybe two.
Oh scarred girl listen to me,
It’s ok you’re finally free.
So little scarred girl please take a bow,
Because scarred girl, you’re free now.
