Scars Of Love

Gasping for breath,
the pain erased the soul
not knowing the true extent
but knowing that change will come.

Turning away from the light,
freedom leaves by morning,
listening to the sound of cries
heaven help the mourning.

Sobs echo off the walls
hearing hearts break,
being helpless
in this mess of life
how much more can tortured souls take?

Gasping for breath,
I am not alone,
I hear the cries around me,
our souls take another dark path
the scars of love still forming.
