Scheduling Time Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Scheduling Time

Rating: 5.0

At the break of day when everything is fresh
Plans materialize as thoughts begin to mesh
Referring to the notations on calendar squares
Time slots of the day are scheduled…so prepare

There is a little time between then and now to tarry
A leisurely cup of coffee preludes the primary
Listen to phone messages and check the e-mails
Feed the cat and firm up the list of 'to do' details

The sky is getting hazy, I wonder if it is going to rain
Is an umbrella necessary, maybe the clouds won’t drain…
Should I wear something light and airy…or cozy and warm
Decisions, decisions…minutes reduce and transform

Time to venture … and scratch commitments off the list
How did the minutes vanish… oh no, my turn was missed!
A sudden feverish feeling grips the confused steering wheel
Looking for a place to turn around…reversing with a squeal

Completing my charted trip; I am exhausted and relieved
In a reclining position…order pizza and wait for it to be received
An hour passes and my stomach is ravenously growling
Time is the master of the mind…it is extremely controlling
