I stand on scorched ground
All the leaves and branches
Are consumed by the blaze
There's no flammable debris
Where the flames have been
Here, I cannot be touched
The blaze has no beckoning
The flame has no invitation
To offer a scorched ground
The flames have been here
Vulnerable bushes about me
A-blazed by the flames' rage
Roar at me but I'm safe here
I stand on a scorched Ground
Where the flames have been
