Sculpting in silence,
the poet patiently carves
out his heart's gifts, in
stanzas wrought from life's labours.
Although love & fame
no longer knock at his door,
he is content in
self- containment's hallowed glow.
Like an angel out
of time and out of season,
he doesn't care for
secular prizes and praise.
He only seeks to
chip away, all that he deems
to be redundant,
until Truth's light emerges
as simple as bone,
but as profound as pure gold.
