The mother cuckoo sang
her sweetest melody
calling out loud
to the single male cuckoo
inviting him to come
to her fragile little world
in search of love.
The mother cuckoo laid
two sparkilng white eggs -
she dropped on the sly
into the ugly crow' nest
and away did she fly
in search of love.
Under the dark crow's belly
two sparkling white eggs
warmed up slowly
till a fine sunny morning
they cracked up suddenly
and out crept promptly
two silky little cuckoos
pouting their beaks
in search of love.
And before the perplexed dark crow
could understand what's up
the two little cuckoos
took to their wings
and flew into the blue
in search of love.
