He wrote me a rhyme
He whistled a note
I smiled and then I laughed
And then waved goodbye:
For the dreams of last night
Have no place in the morning light.

We danced in the dark
He kissed me goodnight
I smiled and then I laughed
And wished him a good life:
For the fun of a moment
Cannot hope to compare
To the pleasure of the wait for Forever.

We shared our hopes
He took up my hurt
I smiled and then I laughed
Through my tears, I bid him farewell:
For even the closeness of two hearts
Cannot compare to the hope that one day,
I may, in an amalgamation of souls, meet you.
