Searching Poem by Jacqueline Dorantes

Searching

Jesus talk to me,
In any way you could
Point a direction for me,
To follow if I should
I want to find You,
And be a soldier by Your side
Ready to honor and represent You,
Fight until I die.

My heart is Yours for the taking,
And so am I in whole
While this world is degrading,
You are the keeper of my soul
In Your hands are my fate and destiny,
And it is You I praise
Please answer me,
As I call out Your name.

Jesus my king,
I lift my eyes onto You,
Cure me of everything,
I'm searching for You.

Flipping through the pages,
of an old, wise book
How could it be that all these ages,
It was the last place I thought to look?
It is there I found You,
for my eyes were opened at once
I no longer had a reason to,
be consumed by my sins and lust.

Filled with wisdom and conviction,
It is now I say to You Lord
That you are the key to my salvation,
My only King- my Lord.
