Searching For Christmas Poem by Susy Evelyne

Searching For Christmas

Rating: 5.0

People are searching.
Searching for the perfect thing
as their offering for this season.
And we spend and wrap and send and give,
little thinking of the reason:
The frail child born in the night
to bring eternal life and light.

So when we are all wrapped up
in shopping sprees
and Christmas trees –
in the whirl of festivities,
and twinkling lights...
will we think back to the miracle
of the first Christmas night?

You've hit the nail on the head with this Susy. I'd bet good money that a large percentage of the population would be hard pressed to say what Christmas is really about, or have ever dipped into the bible.
