I pick up seashells on the seashore
I keep a steady pace
The thundering ocean waves roar
Pushing them away
I turn to look the steps I took
By the sea waves have been erased
I can't retrace and I can't keep on
The ocean I cannot face
As I wonder I listen to a call
A thousand voices calling at once
One of them sounds like yours
It sounds so close and yet it's far
Across the ocean, beyond the waters
As far as a thousand leagues
But I can hear even your whispers
I can even hear you breathe
There are no boundaries for love
So I persist picking the shells of life
Even when the ocean waves roar
And my steps taken seem to be a lie
But it's no lie I want to live
And it's no lie I want to love
It's no lie I heard you Eve
Across the oceans when you spoke
The oceans may thunder and roar
But I've felt your strength and your love
So I continue leaving footsteps
As our future is yet untold
And I pick up seashells and smile
And think of you all the while…
