Season Of Twilight Poem by Kevin Patrick

Season Of Twilight

Rating: 5.0

Old leaf's are pouring down like puppets cut from strings
Trees are barked corpses in the wilting afternoon
And summers in the attic and winters at the door
birds are flying south as the days become cocooned

The sunlight wastes away into a shriveled dot
A greyness stains the sky in the veils of lament
The dogs know longer run and settle on the floor
Watching through the windows for warmer days Advent

walking down the sidewalk I hear that magic crunch
That lights my memories of autumns sweet delights
Piled into oceans of orange, red and gold
Brightening my days in this season of twilight

Somewhere lost in time there's a child in those leafs
Buried in a blanket where he feels an endless wonder
But now their walks a man who know longer believes
who hears the culling winds of a silent thunder
