Season Of Violence Poem by Meghan

Season Of Violence

he hits me like a furious tide
searching for refuge my soul I can't hide
like a hurricane of torrid anger he encases me
my tears running wild but I'll never be free
he is becoming so enraged,
more than an animal kept in a cage
gentle sadness washes over me
after he has stricken tragedy
my tears mimic the lapping of the soft soft waves
with every return of the water taking more happiness away
I don't know where to run so I gotta stay, stay, stay
it's only the eye of the storm
and the sails of my ship lay so tattered and torn
