Seasons To Falter Poem by iceberg Operario

Seasons To Falter

Like frozen leaves on a winter’s eve

I wrapped myself with mournful sighs

Under thick dark clouds of threatening rain

That’s where my lonely heart resides…

Through time’s fast paces, I’m left to drag

Chasing shadows of a love long gone

On endless nights that you’re not around

Is when my silent weeping most resounds…

I took all blows when life threw stones

I drowned when heaven cried its tears

Hid all my wounds from love’s thrusting pinions

And lived in constant dwelling with my fears…

As autumn sheds the trees bare-naked

I’ve withered in the absence of your smiles

I’ll take the fall from heights unknown

Than dance my days through springtime all alone…
