WOUNDED SCROLLS
I counted the days, I counted the stars
I loved each one, each night, until I’m left with scars…
I held my heart, hoping it wouldn’t break
Laid all cards down and my heart at stake….
I cried a river, I drowned in tears,
I cried again for a thousand years…
For my heart to learn to love and set free,
Of the one that made my entire love story…
I long have closed my doors and shut these eyes,
But I found you then, and I fought my way,
To never falter in your beguiling smiles
And still my heart when I meet your stares…
Was there something there, or was it just me?
Wasn’t I just meant to fall for you so deeply?
Was I just too slow, or was I too late?
For you to go and stop the wait…
How will I run, where would I hide?
To shield myself from this gnawing pain…
Tore down my walls, stepped into the sun,
And found myself in love again…
Haven’t had much strength, I wasn’t brave enough
To unveil what’s written inside my heart…
I loved you then - I did not know how,
It doesn’t matter, you’re with her now…
I’m counting the days, as well as the nights,
Till my heart stops to bleed, and my eyes run dry,
To unbreak each time, I should have known better,
Till I teach this heart to ache no longer…
How I love you, you would never know…
When you drifted away, my heart left with you…
I’m forever bound to learn to set you free,
YOU - who would have been my next love story…
