Second Thoughts Poem by Randy Johnson

Second Thoughts

I fell in love with a man's wife.
She convinced me to end his life.
She said we couldn't be together unless he was dead.
I bought a gun and agreed to shoot him in the head.
But when I arrived at his house, I started to have second thoughts.
I promised that I would pull the trigger and end his life but I could not.
She took the gun away from me and shot her husband twice in the chest.
When the cops arrived, she said I killed him and I was placed under arrest.
As I sit in my cell, there is something I think about and I think about it a lot.
When I get out of prison, I will kill her and this time I won't have second thoughts.
