See You Again Poem by Jessica Kelly

See You Again

My head...
Chaotic, disarray
when I heard you were coming home.
I didn't know what seeing you would mean to me...

I don't mean to air my grievances,
I don't mean to make you out to be
the bad guy that messed me all up,
the loser that took hold of me...

But we argue just to argue,
we argue as a rule.
When will I again breathe easy?
When will I again breathe free?

You're only as good as your words,
and you're not saying anything!

When you're sitting at death's door
will you have regrets?
Will never really loving me
be one?
Or will you come running back to me
at the eleventh hour?

At this stage of this game
I feel like bowing out...

I see clouds in my coffee.
I see stars in your eyes.
I'm at a loss
for words.
