Yes, man has lost all the power to love or to be loved, so an angel is very needed to wipe tears. Perhaps Poet himself has lost his belief in humanity. Its a real tragedy of our 'very proud' civilization. The poem of four lines strikes the reader and also very shocking no doubt! Man has no ability to carry the weight of tear-drop, sad indeed.
