Separate Places Poem by Edwina Reizer

Separate Places

If you go away for a while
to some foreign place,
it matters not, not to me.
For there is no space
between you and I.
We’ll find a common trace
of thought transference every day.
For memory is so strong.
Separation is temporary
and though it may seem long
I can stand the pain of it
and let my tears stay wet.
And you must bear the pain of it
and never ever forget
that I’ll remember you forever,
just like when we met.
