' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' Seven Sisters(Being An Early Christmas Poem For Les Girls From Le Boy) - Poem by Dónall Dempsey

I was just
a boy

reared by a pack
of girls

all bright eyes & curls

brought up in
their ways

created day by day
by how they saw & said themselves

tuned into that
fascinating female

a sister for
each day of the week

Before I was nine
('Is that your knickers...NO! ...it's mine! ')

I went through periods
boyfriends, first kisses
etc., etc., etc.

The whole spectrum
of being one

without being one

an honorary girl.

I hurtle sleepily
through the underground

nod at each passing station
how could I possibly miss

my stop

get off at

For my big and little sises...JunieMiMelDeLolaGrá & Bláthi)
