Seven Sisters Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Seven Sisters

Rating: 5.0

In the world
Cricket is a word
It stands for insect
It also names a game
To compare one must have
Open mind to observe
Now think of long flight
Flying to plight
On a plane
In airport comes truck
To ready for lift off
Plane needs JP1
It has been in tankers
Cutting through seas and waves
Came after long trip
Drilling in sands, rocks
Cracking, Fracking with big bucks
This blood of old times
Fossil now; black gold
Truly is ‘Dirty'
Standard, Rockefeller and friends
"They were named Seven Sisters"
In the mid-seventies
Shah announced:
"Tighten belts"
Price raised and Jackal
Political, criminal,
(Whatever branded)
Took plane and hijacked
Saudi's and Iran's Ministers
World became OPEC's toy
Enmity grew deep
The ‘Unknown' became ‘Known'
Muddy was the water for the gain
Fishery is easy in that way
Now on-line, on papers
We can see game reverse
Sure dirty are big men
With power and with wealth
(Sisters' names has now changed)
