Shade - Poem by Lucy Lll
Sit in the shade of me,
Yet absorb all my light.
Bask in the glow of me,
Keep the sun all for yourself.
Eclipse the World around me
and echo your alien sounds in the distance.
Isolate me in clean, clinical prisons
and probe my mind with your lie beams.
Prickle my vulnerable skin with your blatant disregard
and paralyse me with debilitating words.
Nauseate me with your kindness, bitter sweet.
Then crush me with your very next breath.
Chip away everyday at my porcelain heart,
Until arrhythmia sets in, until my breath fades.
Watch whilst my facial figures contort
And I become someone you no longer recognise.
Don't stop until there is no release from the darkness,
until I drown in the shade of you.
