Shadow - Poem by Frank Natividad
I walk down the staircase in front of where we first met.
The railing you leaned against while you waited
When we walked we always walked on different sides
Different sides so our hands would brush the railings.
I remember racing up and jumping down skipping steps.
We were both so young
We were both so happy
I am happy.
Even if your shadow only remains
When I walk these stairs.
