Shadow-Kissed Poem by Lauren Love

Shadow-Kissed

Rating: 5.0

Why this happens to me,
I do not understand
Why this happens to me,
They don't give a damn

Since the death of my sister,
A shadow hung over me
She followed in my heart,
But was never there beside me.

Some don't know,
Some don't care,
Some don't show,
How they really feel.

I always thought I could handle the pain,
But sometimes it was too much.
I would punch or bite myself,
Or wishing I was dead.

I would never actually do it,
But sometimes it feels.
Like tying a rope around my throat,
Was the most simplist thing.

My heart is in pain,
All day long,
For all of them I live,
A shadow-kissed life.

Thankyou :) I've always seemed to express my feelings to poetry and it's helped me

A fine poem about a lost sibling. Runs well has good insight and takes you with it. I could critique some of the modern thinking but it has to be relevant to those most likely to read it. A good read.
