Shadowheart Cries Poem by Tobbie WhiteBird Crowe

Shadowheart Cries

I look in your eyes,
Always hoping to find,
A light deep within
For my heart to abide.

But the darkness greets me
With blank disarray.
So I turn away, walk away
Hiding my grief.

Its than you come racing
Up from behind,
The love light shining warm
Behind your dear eyes.

But where I once was
When you I once sought,
Is not where I stand now
Hoping for more.

Too many cold years,
Too, too much time
The love in my heart
Has weathered and died.

I reached out before,
I reach out again.
But still your warm hand,
Can‘t seem to find mine.

Like phantoms and ghosts,
Is how we now speak.
Islands alone
In the darkness of space.

Where I was,
Is not where I am.
Where you were,
Is not how you are.

There is no real meeting,
No way to touch.
Leftover feelings, just leaving
Empty, empty… hand held hearts.
