In shadows cast by history's cruel embrace,
A darkened time, a nation's sorrowed face,
In '84, a storm of hatred grew,
A tale of tears that many sadly knew.
In Delhi's streets, the fires of anger blazed,
The cries of innocents in fear were raised,
The government, with hands that claimed to guide,
Unleashed a fury none could long abide.
The Sikh community, with faith so strong,
In temples pure, where prayers do belong,
Were met with violence, brutal and unjust,
A genocide, betrayal of all trust.
Homes were burned, and lives were torn apart,
A city's soul was pierced, a bleeding heart,
Men were hunted, women faced their plight,
In darkness deep, they sought a distant light.
Indira's hand, a leader's fatal flaw,
Ignited rage, that gnawed at justice's core,
A nation's wounds, still raw, still red and deep,
The memories, a burden we must keep.
In silence now, we honor those who fell,
Their stories, in our hearts, will always dwell,
For in remembrance, justice finds its voice,
To mourn, to heal, and in peace, rejoice.
Let history record, with ink of truth,
The pain endured, the innocence of youth,
For in our unity, a future bright,
Where love and justice stand against the night.
