Shadows Of Her Love Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

Shadows Of Her Love

Shadows of her love,
Ripped off his loving heart

Masked by innocence,
It was essence of pretence
All lured him in
For he was drunk to the last feeling

Joy escalated and like a bird he was
She became his wings on broken days
And he felt at home in her

But she let go
Somewhere in the atmosphere
With wings so broken,
Alone, left to fly
And now he crashed

Her glittering presence,
Hid her evil essence
Essence that dismantled his heart
And kicked pieces asunder

Ripe fig and drooling mouth!
Split the fig check for worms!
To avoid diving in bitterness!

On shoulders of his love,
The joyful skies crashed
Crushed, are his loving moods
Hammered by shadows of her love
