Shakespeare Poem by William He

Tune: Prelude of Nightingale Singing
Shakespeare
By William He

Clustered buds in one turquoise blue,
The mirage of an oasis in a sort.
At the glinting Avon,
Reflecting Bancroft shadow,
The willows take on a vivid green.
The silent patios,
Sunset shimmering,
Caressing playful Iris tectorum leaves.
The slow-moving swans,
Whispering leaves of melody on.

Moonlight bright through starry night,
Fetching lasses in blooming gowns,
The oxlips and the nodding violet grows.
Love-in-idleness,
Let Helena with a newfound grace,
The drenched mysteries of a faerie tale.
In the lush grass,
Blushed roses on Hermia's cheeks,
Exuding tenderness,
A mazed by magic's fancy then.
Just a frown,
Fairies' forest frolicking,
In a rhythm of praise.

A wood where the ravens fly,
Daphne's teardrop crystal,
Heartache in thousand natural shocks.
To vie for the throne,
An amethystine gleam of hope,
Glancing from heaven to earth,
He has such seething brains,
With the poisoned swords.
Ben-Hur in Arrius' chariot,
Inconstant in an affection,
To be or not to be that is a question,
Emotional disorder,
His eyes disbelieve in to believe in.
Ophelia murmurs,
Sad ballad to the evening breeze,
Her psyche blackened by hate.

The celebrity and conic status,
Imprinted on each honour wall,
Are facile accidents of time and chance.
Abbey's gold glisters at dusk,
Diamonds jazz margarite muguets,
Age's curtain from the soul's stage,
Making strangers share the gifts,
Transforming tinge of marbles as well.
The dust of Him for ever gone,
The scene once his Glory shone,
Millennium Wheel's claws snatch at the remnant,
The once-muffled sunlight,
Flowing across the River Thames.
Some rise by sin and some by virtue fall,
The Sonnet reflects its splendour,
Laments its disappeared magic even.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'Bancroft': The Bancroft Gardens, located on the bank of the River Avon and in front of the world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre, attract over a million visitors every year. The statue of Shakespeare is the work of Lord Ronald Sutherland Gower, and was presented to the town in 1888. The smaller figures of Shakespearean characters are of Hamlet, Lady Macbeth, Falstaff and Prince Hal; symbolising philosophy, tragedy, comedy and history. 'Love-in-idleness':A flower commonly known as the pansy, botanically known as viola tricolor, German-ly known as the Stiefmuetterchenkraut, amusingly known as the kiss-her-in-the-buttery, and traditionally known as heartsease, is one of the many plants that William Shakespeare referenced in his plays. 'Ben-Hur': Ben-Hur (1959) directed by William Wyler. With Charlton Heston, Jack Hawkins, Stephen Boyd, Haya Harareet. Record-breaking winner of 11 Oscars, including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actor, and Score. Judah Ben-Hur, a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother, an officer in the Roman army, returns to his homeland after years at sea to seek revenge, but finds redemption. 'To be or not to be': A Famous Quote by William Shakespeare. This famous quote originated in the play by William Shakespeare (from Hamlet, spoken by Hamlet) . 'Ophelia':A tragic figure in a tragic play. First loved, then spurned by Hamlet, she goes mad and drowns in the river, though we do not know whether by accident or intention. 'Sonnet': Fixed verse form of Italian origin consisting of 14 lines that are typically five-foot iambics rhyming according to a prescribed scheme. The sonnet is unique among poetic forms in Western literature in that it has retained its appeal for major poets for five centuries.
