Shameful Desires Poem by Gabrielle Tastet

Shameful Desires

It's like an addiction.
You jones for it.
You allow yourself to do it,
And you find yourself engulfed in
The action,
The feeling,
The rush.
You thought you'd never do this
Again.
While you are filling the need
Your hurt is gone.
For a moment everything is assuaged,
But it's only the calm before the storm starts up again.
Your shame envelopes you in its cloud once more.
Never again you promise yourself,
But you know you're just lying to
Yourself.
