Shams Of Tabriz Poem by Sumita Jetley

Shams Of Tabriz

Rating: 5.0

In a city where ancient and new entwine,
Under a sky painted with twilight's fine line,
Walked Jalal, with thoughts profound and divine,
Contemplating on generosity's true design.

'Not in gold, but in giving of the soul, '
He mused, 'lies the act that makes us whole.
To touch the infinite, a lofty goal,
Where giving's essence plays the central role.'

By chance, beside a street's gentle curve,
He found a dancer, with verve and nerve.
Her movements, a story they did serve,
A beauty, from life's canvas, they carve.

Jalal, with only his flute in hand,
Stepped forward, in this urban land.
He played a tune, so grand and so bland,
A melody that spoke more than words can stand.

The music and dance, in harmony they blend,
A moment of unity, difficult to comprehend.
'In your art, the infinite I apprehend,
A shared essence, our souls it did mend.'

Shams of Tabriz, in spirit, watched over,
Whispering wisdom that made Jalal ponder.
'In the dance of life, be a lover,
Share your light, let generosity thunder.'

The dancer asked, 'Why share this tune with me? '
Jalal smiled, 'In your dance, Shams's wisdom I see.
In giving, we embrace life's mystery,
Connecting souls, setting our spirits free.'

As the night embraced the city's heart,
Jalal's music, a divine spark did impart.
In generosity, he played his part,
A poem of unity, from the start.

So, let's remember, in our every deed,
To share our light, plant a generous seed.
For in giving, our souls are freed,
Following Jalal and Shams's lead.
