Shattered Frame Poem by Sara Smith

Shattered Frame

Rating: 3.0

I looked down at a picture of us
When we first fell in love
So happy, so free
Back then I was... me
But during our relationship
You changed me inside
How I acted, how I felt
About decisions I was dealt
I hated what was happening
But it wouldn't change
I couldn't... wouldn't say
That I was afraid

It ended badly
But at last I'm free
I throw the picture and fall to my knees
The glass was shattered
So was my heart
I need to pull myself together
Before I fall more apart

Very well titled because it can not only mean that of a frame in a literal sense but also that of an emotional frame being shattered after losing someone you love. Well written.

Love is such a strange feeling. It pulls us together and falls us apart and finally makes us free in a shattered life......Nice poem Sara!
