Shattered Soul Poem by Christopher John Fausnight

Shattered Soul

Here I sit in the shadows,
Waiting for darkness to engulf me.

A part of my life has been taken,
For it shall never be alive again.

The lifeforce of my heart has been broken,
For it imploded and shattered and forever gone.

The key to life is lost,
Gone forever and ever.

What am I to do with these demons eating me away,
Pulling me apart and breaking my will.

Before long I shall be in pieces,
Never being whole again.

Piece by piece im losing my soul,
Losing my life and all that mattered.

My body and mind are withering away,
Waiting day by day for darkness to end.

Im trying to find the light,
The torch of brightness and enlightenment.

Hoping it will brighten my lost, dim path,
Guiding me back to life and all I have lost.

Just trying and trying to find that spark,
Praying for the best, praying to be back to life.

For the shadows keep lingering,
Trying to swallow my entire existence.

These feelings of grief and sadness need to end,
I must put back the pieces of my life.

The mind, body, heart, and soul must unite,
For the utopia and harmony must survive within me.

If not, all may be astray,
Wondering endlessly about.

One day life will return,
One day everything will unite.

Everything may be admist,
But, things adrift may be found.

Buried deep within me are the answers,
The only chance I have for survival.

One day I'll be whole and ready,
Ready to take the beacon of hope and light.

To brighten the horizon,
And bring peace to my life.

I like how you describe the shadows engulfing you and the demons tearing you apart.. But Are you Really looking for peace in the end Or to start a new War? To build an army to fight these demons and to Win or to lose again and fall back into the trenches of darkness
